I really find this exasperating. I cannot really sell myself because it sounds disingenuous to me to do so. Is writing something on here going to really tell you much or tell you if we have chemistry? I doubt it, but I will try to without sounding completely full of myself. I am new to this online dating thing, but I figured I would give it a go after the last couple dates I went on reveled major issues to me before we were done with the appetizers--seriously, ask me about them for a good laugh.
I love doing things with my dogs--taking them hiking or swimming at the lake near my house. I like politics, one of my degrees is in political science. I like movies although the drek that passes for a movie sometimes makes me frustrated. I like sports, baseball, basketball, football and golf. I like hanging out with my friends and talking about the craziness that is the world. I love reading. I like plays and art, but it seems like a pain sometimes to make it out to be a consumer of those things. Thankfully I have friends that drag me to them when I am protesting. I like making people laugh--I like low brow and high brow humor. I am a good cook, but hate doing dishes. I am thoughtful and kind, but I have been known to leave the toilet seat up....sorry.
When I have the time, I volunteer at CPCC as a teacher prepping adult students to take the GED and move on to college. I also volunteer as a youth basketball coach at the YMCA.
Women who will like me will be looking for a genuinely smart man. They will value humor and honesty. They will be looking for a grown man that does not live in his moms basement or with roommates. They will have to value having fun and both quiet nights in and some great nights on the town. Despite some people thinking it's uncouth, I still open car doors and pull out chairs. I am a relationship type guy--starting as friends is definitely best, but I am not into an uncommitted relationship or friends with benefits type deals.
My ideal women? One With which I have chemistry--I know that is a cop out but it is really true. I need three things to be happy with a mate: 1-Honesty 2-Open mindedness and 3-smarts. I like it when people show me new things. Homogenous relationships where both parties like exactly the same things are boring. I would rather you be the opposite than exactly the same--we can show each other fun new things. What I don't care about is your looks, weight, job, education, kids, pets, hair color or anything superfical. I think lots of people instantly rule out potential matches because of one or two small things and I will not do that. I don't like playing games and I would hope a date is as honest with me as I am with her.
