Stretchin' pennies into dollars gettin' up early to do the chores. Makein' room at my table, In case I need to feed one more.
Playin' "Midwife" to mares and heifers, Doctorin' colts and calves and thanking God, at the end of the day, for all the blessings I have.
Like an alpha mare I can get snorty and high headed. You won't get anywhere, if you jerk, and spur and cuss. Cause it takes slow , steady and easy, to win my respect and trust.
He? He will be someone honest, polite and kind with a twinkle in his eye.
Reads the Good Book. Holds my hands when we bow and pray. Dance with me in the kitchen.Take time to laugh and play.
Pick me Wildflowers, for no reason and moonlight kisses in the barn. Sometimes, just reach out and hold me I love good ole cowboy charm. "IF" we throw together, I'll hold up my end of the crew. And I damn sure won't quit ya, till the ride on the other side Is through.

Spring and fall gatherings with family and friends. Foaling season and new life. Bottle calves in the kitchen. Fire in the wood stove, nothing feels as warm as backing up to wood heat.
Anything from fine, white table cloth, dining to beanie weenies, Mac and cheese on paper plates. Carhartt coveralls all day long to Lucchese boots and stand up by themselves starched jeans to Satin, lace and pearls.
Full moons. Early morning cavalcade sights and sounds of creaking leather, jingle bobs, swinging reins, bright, soft eyes and gentle snorts, the view thru the ears. A few more times.
