I am a country boy. I grew riding dirt bikes through the woods and snowmobiles across the frozen lake in northern New York. After three years of college, I dropped out and joined the Navy to "see the world." I have traveled extensively since then, but a little of the simplicity of the country boy still remains. I believe in saying what you mean and meaning what you say. When in doubt tell the truth; it always hurts less in the long run. I would not consider myself "narrow minded." I am not focused on winning arguments. I like discussing ideas with people who disagree with me. We are both better for the exchange. Dialogue is healthy for everyone and it is one quality missing from public and political talk. That said, in the interest of full disclosure, and despite my dislike for labels, I will say that I am a social, fiscal and political conservative. I think labels limit dialogue and remove all the fun of hearing other points of view. I would describe myself as a reasonable person in the best sense of the word. I am willing to listen to "reason," and withhold judgement until I have heard your idea. Teaching and learning have always been my passions. I am a positive person. I enjoy laughing as often as possible, but I can also be introspective. I am either introverted extrovert or an extroverted introvert. I value politeness, honesty, simplicity, and transparent communication. When I am not working, I enjoy riding my bike, swimming, going to the gym... I may not be physically tall, but I have a "tall" heart, an active and curious mind and a love for adventure.. I am also a very verbal person. Those who know say that women can speak about 20,000 words each day while men may speak about 7,000 words a day. I bet I can use more words than most women.... above all else, the most important quality I am seeking is the ability and the interest in conversation. Two thoughts, ladies. children and animals love me and who is a better judge of character than children and animals ?... Second, children don't frighten me. I am the guy at family gatherings who is usually surrounded by the children because we are cooking up some new game or just laughing over a silly joke. I enjoy hearing their ideas. That's why I became a teacher.
