First date? I don’t really know. Even though I’ve had seven relationships, I’ve only ever been on a date once. After five and a half years of singledom, I think I’ve finally figured out the answer to the question “What are you looking for in a relationship?”

Must Haves/Deal Breakers:

1. A Good Heart- If you have a good heart, I will find you very attractive, no matter if you have any of the other attributes on this list or not.

2. A Sense of Humor- I love to laugh. I’m notorious for my giggle fits. If you can make me laugh, you’re golden.


Nice, But Not Important:

3. Intelligence- If you can keep up with me in a mental sparring match, that’s very sexy. If you can surpass me in said mental sparring match, that’s just about as sexy as sexy can get. Granted, I’ve dated some people who were dumber than a box of rocks but because they had a good heart and a sense of humor, their intelligence didn’t matter to me. It only became a problem when I got annoyed with constantly having to “dumb down” my intelligence just to be able to have a conversation with them.

4. Physical Attractiveness- Honestly, this almost made it into the number one slot and only for the fact that it is humanly impossible to look at others and NOT see their physical attractiveness. I like a physically attractive mate but if you’re physically attractive and don’t have a single one of the first three attributes, you could be the “handsomest” or “prettiest” person on the face of the Earth and I’d think you were the ugliest person on Earth.

5. Nice Body- Yes, this goes with number four but number four is actually referring to facial features. Even though I’m a fat girl, I can’t help but be attracted to a nice six pack and the V of nice abs makes me swoon. LOL (Also, if I found someone who had one or more of the first three attributes and then had a nice body and liked working out, maybe they’d help me get back in the gym. I miss working out.)
